Playing a fullscreen game in a window

Assuming a game is optimized for the system and display being used, fullscreen mode has the potential to boost performance when compared to borderless windowed mode.

The mouse cursor remains locked to whichever screen is displaying the game. The primary benefit to playing a game in borderless windowed mode is its flexibility. Unlike fullscreen mode, borderless windowed mode allows users to mouse over additional monitors without undue interruption, making other applications much more accessible.

So which mode is right for you? CSDragon said on December 12, at pm. Trevader said on March 1, at am. Kip Nox said on March 29, at pm. DJToasterWaffle said on April 20, at pm. Click on Run new task , type explorer. Windows Explorer will be restarted and you will have all the windows back again. Meanwhile, I would also encourage you to provide a feedback using the feedback hub on Windows 10, so that our engineering team can look into this.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. I thank you for your time and response. If I changed my UAC User Access Control for the laymen and bumped it up a few notches, reboot, and play the game, then the mouse correctly locks to the center of the screen at least not allowing the taskbars to re-appear.

After which, I re-applied my preferred UAC settings never notify, way low that seemed to fix it. Personally, I dont find it reasonable to tell users to kill Explorer in order to have a decent gaming experience That seems very archaic, I work in IT, and to tell End Users to do such a thing makes sense for the more technically inclined, but I dont think that is the best course as a blanket solution.

Please do not take this as me being negative towards you , I also saw others suggesting to kill the Explorer process in other troubleshooting "tips", and given the fact MS seems hell-bent on not fixing it's UWP platform, well, making users find ways to fix Microsoft's mistakes kind of seems like it comes with the territory.

It seems lazy and completely uncaring towards consumers. I am convinced it is the horrible implementation of UWP causing these issues.
