When not blogging on this site he also blogs about personal finance at BibleMoneyMatters. I tested it out for about 20 minutes trying the different options, and it looks VERY promising.
Cool, thanks for posting this. Looking forward to checking out your review! My initial impressions of the Kinect? You do need a lot of space to use it, however. Kinect Adventures, that came with the Kinect, features 3 demos for Kinect games, one of them being Your Shape. I tried it, and so far it seems very intuitive to use, and the motion tracking works very well. I should have the game within the next day or so.
I tried out Kinect Sports in a store, and loved it! Unlike a lot of slow-paced shuffling games, Just Dance gets the blood thumping with powerful beats and intense routines. Although not the most basic routines featured on a dance entry, this party starter hit is more than capable of getting the sweat rolling.
It turns out that Zumba is, well, pretty good at keeping you fit. Although somewhat outdated compared to many phone apps, Your Shape does include its fair share of timeless workout routines. With the additional option to challenge your friends, climb the leaderboard and establish new targets within the community, Fitness Evolved sits as a simple yet satisfying alternative to the fitness regime.
It has an excellent choice to choose from and thanks for sharing. You might prefer Kung Fu High Impact, which has much better motion tracking. That MMA game sucks so hard. I can't believe it's second place! It's practically not a game, just a guided video.
Motion detection is so bad that you have to punch twice or thrice for the game to detect you thrown a punch. It doesn't even distinguish if you throw a punch or an elbow; just that "something" from your left moved to the right. For example, if you have to throw a right jab and a left elbow strike you might as well sissy slap with both hands and the game detects you did it right.
And those repetitive comments from the trainers make the whole experience artificial. Definitely agree about Your Shape: Fitness Evolved being the best. I have a huge stack of Kinect games. Yeah, the kids love Kinectimals, but I primarily use the Kinect for a workout. Out of all, I use Your Shape the most. With the wide variety of workouts available for everything from warm ups to strength training targeted to specific body regions, you can get the results desired. And does it ever put the burn on!!!
You can always move to more intense games, or even graduate to non-Kinect activities. Sometimes it just takes that one little push to get "up off the couch" :. I'm still no the fence if I want to get a Kinect. I guess it would more so for my family because it's something that mom could do. The only issue is I think you have to do a lot of working out for it to actually start making a difference in your health. The movements in most of the games are pretty slow and not enough of it.
Well, I am a Wii person, but my husband wants to get an xbox and you are making it look pretty compelling. I love all the dance games for the wii and I am sure that I would love some of these fitness dvds. Thanks for a great lens, I liked it very much. These are awesome for losing weight and getting in shape because they free a person from the need to pay a gym or trainer to start doing it. I might add it to the list, but for the time being, anyone visiting this site should know that Dance Central 2 is a great game that provides a great workout!
Dance Central 2 Works better for me that anything. Sure, I feel like a goober half the time, but those dances on hard are truly a cardio blast. I had no idea what this was until I watched the video you have here. Of course, as I've stated this isn't something to pop in when you're trying to have some fun.
This is a great way to exercise at home when you don't feel like going to the gym, or you just don't want to pay for the gym. We all know Jillian Michaels is no joke, so this intense workout should be no surprise! If you're really trying to combine fun and fitness, this might be the perfect combination! There are a lot of fun graphics that are interactive and will make you feel like you're playing a game rather than working out.
Of course, it wouldn't be worth it if it didn't kick your butt just a little! Some fun graphics include doing pushups with things piled on your back to represent resistance. This is a great way to extend your workouts because it's hard to get bored when you're playing a game. If you're sick of just listening to music or staring at walls while you workout, this is the best solution for you. If we're being honest here, the Just Dance series is more about fun than fitness. That doesn't mean it's completely out of the question though!
If you're not really into working out, but know that you have to start somewhere, then this is the game for you.
The Just Dance games have a workout option, so it isn't just about you pushing yourself hard through dancing. They let you know which dances are best for working out, so you have have fun and burn calories!
If you're looking for something intense, choose one of the other games. This is a fun game that offers a workout, not a workout that offers fun. If you are looking for a fun way to get yourself up and moving, keep motivated and exercise, all without having to leave your home, invest in a Kinect and a couple of games.
These have been around for a couple of years now, so the prices are becoming a bit more reasonable. What is your favorite Xbox Kinect game that helps you lose weight?
