When I clicked the restore button the disc was ejected I was asked to insert the second disc. The files then were copied successfully. However, when it finished and I tried to click Okay on the message that appeared, the cursor went nuts and my screen's display started shaking. I finally was able to quit Roxio Restore and my Mac returned to normal.
So I'm afraid of Roxio Restore. What I'm going to do in the future is use DiskCatalogMakerRE that's included with the Toast bundle to create its own directory of what's on the discs for locating and copying files. Still, if any files are spanned then Roxio Restore has to be used to rejoin them. The version of Roxio Restore that is included with Toast I agree with toastee, for safety, file should not be split.
That being said, i have split accross 3 bd-rs with large file sizes. I usually check them with roxio restore right away as this is a long process with 3 bdrs.
I know I have used disc recovery with success, but cannot recall if it was a spanned disc or dvd-video. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. I also am using Norton Norton Diagnostics one time reported that I have an OS problem and that I probably am missing a windows secuirty patch and advised to update windows.
After all these reboot, etc I run Norton Diagnostics again and it still has the same result, I still have that same problem.
I insisted that as he saw, windows is updated and it's norton saying it has a problem so I wanted to know from them what the problem was more specifically since it's their software that is diagnosing my system. They insisted to contact Microsoft instead and said thank you to me for them being able to solve my problem.
I left it at that So I thought of simply restoring my system to an earlier date and when I tried to restore my system to an earlier date I got a msg that restoration was unsuccessful. I did it several times and the same thing happened. So I thought Norton Firewall must be blocking the activity I don't know why I thought this so I disabled Norton and enabled windows firewall instead then tried to restore to an earlier date.
Restoration was successful but this time, it was norton which malfunctioned when I enabled it, updated etc.. Before doing anything else, I successfully reinstalled Norton so I could safely search tne net for a solution to my sidebar disappearance. I icon in "All Programs" when clicked says it cannot find the sidebar.
